There are many ways that you can help make a difference in the lives of our students as they work toward building confidence and independence. Without our dedicated volunteers, generous grants, and donations, Ride to Fly programs would not be able to exist.
Volunteerism
Ride to Fly depends upon the partnership of committed volunteers. You don't need to have much...just a desire to care well for others! Below is a list of jobs our volunteers can have. Don't worry, we will train you on everything! The minimum age for volunteers is 14. If interested, click the "apply here" button and fill out our volunteer application. Sponsorship
Sponsorship plays a crucial role in sustaining the mission of Ride to Fly. Your sponsorship will help cover the costs of horse care, facility maintenance, and professional staff to ensure that our students can engage in activities partnering with horses. The end goal is for students to experience the physical, mental, emotional, and cognitive benefits of these activities regardless of their financial situation. Sponsorships start at $50.
VOLUNTEER DUTIES
SIDE WALKER
Walks beside the horse to assist the rider during lessons
HORSE HANDLER
Leads the horse during the lessons and is responsible for the horse during the lesson
SPECIAL EVENTS
Planning, preparing, decorating, setup, cleanup, etc
LESSON ASSISTANT
Carries out other miscellaneous duties to ensure lessons go smoothly, safely, and are fun for the students
